China and New Zealand have concluded an historic equivalence agreement. The countries agreed to recognize each other's certified organic products as such. This means that a Chinese certificate is valid in New Zealand and vice versa.
 
According to China Daily this is the first agreement that China does with other countries on mutual recognition of organic certificates. China mainly exports coffee, frozen vegetables and animal feed to New Zealand. The archipelago exports mainly dairy products, meat and vegetables to China. Under the agreement it was decided that all products carrying the label and Chinese codes.
 
According to official data last year China sold 60 billion yuan (8.78 billion dollars) on organic products. China is the fourth largest export destination for New Zealand's organic exports.
